FAQ

Do I really need counseling?

Anyone can benefit from counseling because life happens and we recognize that.  Usually clients have an idea of what they would like to work on when they come in.  If you are unsure, you can come in for an assessment at our office so we can see what you may want to work on.  There are also online assessments such as this one:

What will therapy look like?

The first session is call an “intake appointment” and will be going over paperwork, establish a relationship with your therapist and what to expect in the following sessions.  The first few sessions are to gather information and set goals, exploring what you want to work on at your pace.  From there, you will work with your therapist on reaching your goals with an individualized plan.  Sessions will start weekly and as you progress will become bi-weekly, once a month and as needed.

To get the most out of your sessions, it is important that you come to your appointments consistently and on time.
