Our world today is extremely busy.  We are constantly connected and constantly moving. Our attention seems to go many directions all at once.  Some examples…notice how many people at the movies are also on their phones while whispering to the person next to them. Out at dinner, notice who is on their phone, eating and also with others at the same time.   Maybe you start an e-mail, then get distracted and leave it there while 20 minutes go by doing other things. There seems to be no time to be presently effective and no time to reflect on experiences.
The blogspiration challenge this week is to notice when you are drifting to other things and bring your focus back to whatever your priority is.  Once the experience ends, take some time (maybe a minute or 2) and reflect on it.  What did you notice, what did you feel, what did you like/dislike, etc.  Reflection is important because it gives us an opportunity to discover our likes/dislikes and also where our time is going so that we can live more effectively and feel more balanced.  If we don’t allow ourselves to fully experience anything and then do not reflect, we are apt to feel like a hamster in a wheel, constantly spinning with no way off.  Happy reflecting!
