When clients find themselves in a place in their personal work where they feel “stuck,” often times it means they have reached a crossroad to change. It’s a place they do not like, feels uncomfortable and in that place they feel lost with a fear of going backward. Meanwhile, I am celebrating because this is a place where change is about to happen! The real journey begins when we are aware of what we want to change and reach a place where our old habits have left us. So where do we go from here? This is your journey and so it is solely your decision, so when you trust yourself the direction will find you.
This week, the challenge is to remind yourself that the only person steering your journey is you. Sure, there are outside circumstances in our lives that may throw us off course from time to time, but when that happens you still have the control and can make the decision to continue where you go next. Look at “feeling stuck” as a place of renewal and a new chapter of your story. Remind your old habits when they creep back that they are from the past and you have moved on to bigger and better things (regardless if you aren’t sure what those are yet).
