It’s easy to get trapped it what I call the dreaded “spiral” of unhappiness. Similar to the well known definition of insanity being doing the same thing over and over again, but expecting different results-recognizing that you are unhappy and taking the next steps towards happiness can seem daunting. So how do you discover what makes you happy? Start small, take notice the thoughts or times where you find yourself smiling, laughing, looking forward to something or lost in flow where time is doesn’t seem to exist.
The challenge this week is recognize what makes you happy and find another time (or times) this week to have that same experience again. It may be reading a book, talking to a friend, singing loudly in your car…whatever it is-you have the strength to find your happy, hold onto it and reproduce it when you need it most. Go for it…happiness awaits!
