Set a goal this week that you have been meaning to reach. It needs to be small and attainable, maybe something you would like to change in your daily routine such as having time to read a book. Some might say, “yeah right! The moment I pick up a book (something in life) will happen!” or “I have no time for that! Have you seen my schedule?” Everyone gets the same 24 hours, it’s all about how we use it.
So how will you modify your time to reach your goal? Where does your time go? Take a mental note of what you do with it in particular situations…at work, at home, while out to dinner, etc. Find what distracts you, try to eliminate those distractions to make some room to meet your goal, or that may be your goal. A simple way to start may also be your smartphone use. Phones are such a huge distraction in our culture and I bet by putting down your phone for a half hour just as a start you may find that time you were looking for, may meet the world from a new perspective, connect with someone you love or have a moment to reflect. Embrace that time however YOU decide to spend it!
