Have you noticed that when you decide to watch or read the news it usually isn’t good? Do you tend to get phone calls from friends when they have something to complain about or a problem? It seems that many of us are addicted to problems. When I overhear conversations this becomes interesting…at first I hear “How are you?” with someone else usually responding “fine.” Then in less then 30 seconds, I hear a bantering of problems between these people who both just said they were “fine.” Doesn’t seem “fine” to me!
The challenge this week is to focus on the joys of your life and not the problems. It could be as simple as your coffee joint had your favorite flavor this morning that you enjoyed or that you are happy to hear your partner’s voice over the phone. Break the habit of letting problems define “your day.” I think you’ll find that by putting joy out in the world you just might get some back!
