September often brings the start of many things…birthdays, festivals, holiday beginnings, back to school (parents, teachers and kids)…it’s a lot. Calendars fill up fast with little time to engage in meaningful downtime. Before you get tangled in holiday lights and adorn your fridge with invitations, take a step back. Of all these things, what do you really want to do? I bet not everything is speaking loudly and in fact some things you may feel like you “have to” go. Well, today I’m giving you permission to say “no!” to something so that you can say “yes!” to you. What activity can you forgo to give some time to yourself? Even if you skip something in order to complete a task on your to do list, if it’s going to help you feel better, go for it!
Having an over-scheduled life leads to little time to reflect, process and learn from our experiences. Sure, there are somethings that we need to do, however prioritizing and giving yourself permission to do 1 thing for yourself can leave you feeling refreshed and better able to complete the tasks ahead. Use this week to decide what you want to do and what you are willing to let go of so you can be a better you and feel great about your decisions!
