“When a flower doesn’t bloom, you fix the environment in which it grows, not the flower”-Alexander Den Heijer #mentalhealth #perspective #change

There are so many people out there who stay in jobs they dread going to, stay in friendships that are just drama, put themselves in places where they cannot be themselves.

-Imagine that you are a flower

-Now picture that flowering standing in the different environments of your typical day

-Are you blooming?  Are you withering? Are you still in the ground?!

Some get so caught up in trying to change themselves that they forget about the impact the environment has on them.  This is why most of us take vacations…to escape our environments.  Why not try to change them-including our careers, friends, other relationships or situations that are preventing us from being who we want to be.  This week, the challenge is to recognize what in your environment is keeping you from blooming.  For example, I find it hard to work with the TV on, so it could be as simple as moving to another room if someone is watching TV.  Take control of what you can around you, give yourself the sunshine and water you need to blossom into motivation, peace, creativity or whatever it is that you need.
